Physical Education is for life!!!
Welcome to Mrs. Jefferson's P.E. website. (In case you didn't know, P.E. stands for physical education.) Long gone the days of saying "gym'...I have been a Physical Educator since 1996. I also was a personal trainer. I enjoyed doing both, but I fell in love with teaching. So, why not combine both?
My philosophy is that everyone should enjoy some form of physical activity. I believe that the love of physical activity forms from when you take p.e. in elementary school. I believe that your experience in p.e. class when you are younger, sets the tone for your feelings about physical activity as a teen and as an adult. I want my students to walk away from my class confident that they can play any sport or do any activity because they know the basics. I believe in variety. Most people tend to shy away from things that are unfamiliar. I like to at least introduce my students to different types of sports. Maybe they will find one that they enjoy...Also, ask about the NHPS middle school sports programs...
Here are a few programs in addition to the NHPS sports program:
Basketball
Hamden Regional Youth Basketball League
Visit the City of Parks and Rec website for information on their upcoming basketball league.

Check the City of New Haven website for additional information on teams around the city, such as volleyball, football, soccer and baseball/softball.
